Who The Hell Are We Anyways?
Meet The Ranch Hand Crew
I’m Jesse Romo, owner of Ranch Hand Store. I grew up in the Porcupine Hills near Nanton, Alberta, where our family runs a cow-calf operation and the western way of life is just part of every day. That upbringing taught me to value gear that’s simple, honest, and built to last.
My husband Joey is a professional team roper — he recently qualified at his first Canadian Finals Rodeo in Edmonton — and together we run Mosquito Creek Horses & Productions. We train performance and rope horses, host team-roping jackpots, plant trees, guide hunts, and generally stay busy in the saddle. When we’re not roping or training, we’re shaping tough, useful ranch and performance horses — the kind that earn their keep.
Ranch Hand grew out of that life. We make full-grain leather dog collars, horse tack, and western bags that actually do the job. Because we split our time between Alberta and Arizona, our gear gets field-tested in prairie cold and desert heat — real conditions, not showroom runs. If you want honest leather made by people who use it, you’ve found the right place.
I’ve always loved horses, dogs and working outdoors — so starting Ranch Hand felt natural. I’m cheap, in the best way: I hate paying full retail and I’m always hunting for a deal — but I won’t compromise on quality. That’s the whole point of this business.
Our unofficial motto:
“Barrel-racer expectations on a team-roper budget.”
If this is our first hello — pleasure to meet you. Stick around, shop a little, or drop us a line. We’d love to connect.
